The ‘city of light’ is your host this evening, so kick off your holiday with a delightful welcome reception at the luxurious hotel in Paris’s popular Opera District.
Day 2 Paris > Bordeaux Traverse the World Heritage-listed landscapes of the Loire Valley in style aboard the TGV to Bordeaux. Your friendly crew will welcome you on board the luxurious Scenic Diamond for your cruise through France’s celebrated southwestern pocket. This evening on board you’ll be treated to a special welcome dinner in Crystal Dining with the glittering city of Bordeaux as your backdrop. (Breakfast, Dinner)
Day 3 Bordeaux > Saint-Émilion Enjoy a relaxing morning on board as you cruise in style into the beautiful 13th century port of Libourne. Whilst cruising, perhaps drop into Scenic Culinaire for a French cooking class to improve your culinary prowess, or stop by River Café for a specialty coffee and delectable treat to be enjoyed with new found friends as your luxury Space-Ship glides it’s way through beautiful riverside scenery. You’ll spend the afternoon in the nearby town of Saint-Émilion, an absolute visual feast and the jewel of this ancient wine growing region. You’ll also get to explore the underground catacombs of the Monolithic Church – a true trip highlight.
Celebrate the two thousand-year history of wine by enjoying a glass at the exclusive estate of Château Siaurac. The owners of this opulent estate will offer Scenic guests a warm welcome upon arrival, before inviting you inside to wander their beautiful family home for a rare opportunity to see behind the scenes of such a fine aristocratic château in this exclusive wine region. Perhaps sample local cheeses with matching wines in the 18th century Orangerie, or take a self-guided botanical walk through the peaceful English garden. Alternatively, partake in the local game of Pétanque on the expansive lawns of the estate, or simply relax in a deck chair and take in the natural beauty of the setting in which you will find yourself. However you choose to spend your time as a guest of the hospitable owners of the Château Siaurac estate, as the vines glow red and gold at sunset, and with a glass of the estate’s vintage in hand whilst a local guitarist provides an acoustic soundtrack, it really is hard to imagine a more elegant way to enjoy this beautiful region. Day 4 Libourne > Pauillac
Awake in charming Libourne.
Enjoy a guided tour of Libourne and view its quaint 16th century town-house and Gothic church. Alternatively, explore the exclusive estate of Château Franc Mayne and taste its Grand Cru Class wine, or view the eclectic city of Bergerac and enjoy foie gras tasting at a the charming local farm of Le Ferme de Biorne. For the cycling enthusiasts, why not opt for a cycling discovery of France’s oldest wine region, the Pomerol and Saint-Émilion region, passing some of the world’s most famous wine estates such as Cheval Blanc, Petrus and Angelus.
Back on board this afternoon you may opt to enhance your culinary skills with a masterclass in Scenic Culinaire or simply soak in the riverside panoramas while cruising to Pauillac. Enjoy an evening of fabulous local entertainment on board tonight. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Day 5 Médoc
Travel the scenic Médoc wine route today and discover why this region is viewed as the world’s leading red wine producer, and one of the most scenic wine regions in all of France to discover. Those choosing to discover this region by bike will cycle into the heart of this world famous and incredibly picturesque wine region. Passing Grand Cru Classe estates such as Lynch Bages and through the neighbouring hamlet that is seemingly lost in time and exuding an historic charm, you’ll continue your cycle through vineyard-clad landscapes where one palatial château after another lines up along your scenic cycling route, broken only by the placement of quaint residential hamlets, until you’ll arrive finally to the opulent Château Lagrange. Enjoy a relaxing tasting of their Grand Cru Classe vintages and learn of the significance of Napolean III’s 1855 classification system before your scenic cycle back to your luxurious Scenic Space-Ship.
The spectacular Médoc countryside boasts many fine aristocratic châteaux but none more opulent than Château Giscours. You’ll be escorted this evening to the charming 18th century Farm Suzanne on the Giscours estate to enjoy unforgettable four-course dining with Grand Cru Class wines and live musicians performing classical masterpieces for your enjoyment. Day 6 Pauillac > Cadillac
Soak in the Garonne River vistas as you spend a luxurious full day aboard the Scenic Diamond. Cruising the picturesque landscapes of the Garonne River into Cadillac provides some of the most beautiful scenic cruising in all of the Bordeaux region. Whilst cruising you may choose to implement your cooking skills with a lesson in Scenic Culinaire with your expert culinary team on hand to guide you in the art of French gastronomy. The Panorama Lounge comes to life this evening when fabulous local entertainers perform live for your exclusive enjoyment. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Day 7 Cadillac
Setting off from Cadillac by bike you’ll cross the Garonne River and travel along scenic backroads lined with some of the region’s ancient fortresses depicting the brilliant past of this formerly English region. Venture deeper into the Sauternes region to arrive at the exclusive estate of Château Myrat for a tasting of their prestigious Grand Cru Class dessert wines. Boasting over 400 years of wine making prestige and a breathtaking setting where centuries-old vineyards stretch to the horizon in all directions, broken only by the opulence and grandeur of the château itself that rises out of the landscape as though it’s the bejeweled crown of the terroir, you’ll enjoy a special tasting of the estates mouthwatering vintages before your leisurely cycle through charming scenery to arrive back to the comforts of your floating hotel.
Remain on board and join a master class in French cuisine in Scenic Culinaire. Or visit Roquetaillade Castle, founded by Charlemagne it’s one of the region’s most impressive historic sites and you’ll tour it with the family that now lives within its walls. Day 8 Bordeaux
Bordeaux boasts one of France’s most distinguished culinary cultures and it’s yours to discover intimately when you Shop with a Chef at a local food market before using your freshly bought produce to cook up a storm in Scenic Culinaire back on board your Scenic Space-Ship. Or enjoy a guided tour of Bordeaux and her many attractions. For the more energetic, cycle the historic regions of Bordeaux across beautiful bridges to witness sites such as the Royal Gate and the Palais Rohan, before cycling through public gardens back to the luxury of your floating hotel. Alternatively, cycle further afield through the railworker’s district, by the Sacré Coeur and out of the city along the path of the Eau Blanche creek towards the Graves wine region for a tasting of the regions renowned wines. Discover the historic and architectural landmarks of the Pessac Léognan wine region including vistas of Château Olivier, La Louviére, Haut Bailly, Smith Haut Lafite and the Sources de Caudalies wine spa before cycling roundtrip back into Bordeaux to the luxurious comforts of your Scenic Space-Ship.

Day 9 Arcachon > Bourg
Situated on the northern tip of Europe’s longest coastal beach, Arcachon is the jewel of France’s western coastline.
For those fancying something sweet, why not stay on board and enjoy a fabulous Mademoiselle de Margaux chocolate and wine pairing event in Scenic Culinaire. Alternatively, explore Le Teich Bird Reserve, home to over 250 bird species. Or climb Europe’s largest sand dune and drink in the expansive panoramas. You may choose instead to join a walking tour of Arcachon including a visit to the lively Baltard produce market where the very best local chefs shop for the freshest of produce and where the local stall owners will offer you tastings of their delicious fare. Or cycle along the picturesque seaside paths of the Arcachon Bassin region to witness spectacular natural scenery and drop into small regional villages along the way for tastings of their local fare. An absolute highlight cycling experience for the active and nature enthusiast.

Day 10 Cognac
Today explore the unique northern shores of the Gironde Estuary. Opt for a self guided cycling excursion through the quaint riverside hamlets of this historic region, or join one of the following guided tours to explore more of the surrounding area.
Join your expert cycling guide for a guided discovery by bike of the Cote de Bourg region, starting at the confluence of the Dordogne and Garonne Rivers, this region is one of the oldest wine growing areas in all of France and offers spectacular scenery. Or discover the Carriages Museum in the enchanting Bourg Castle including a visit to the 16th century passageway to the guards rooms and immense WWII oil tanks. Alternatively, spend a full day exploring the fortified town of Cognac, renowned for its production of fine brandy. Afterwards, enjoy a special tasting of the acclaimed Rémy Martin export.

Day 11 Blaye > Bordeaux
Discover the remarkable Blaye region, established to protect the Bordeaux region from invasion.
Stroll through the charming Citadel of Blaye, or join a 30 kilometre roundtrip cycle along the Captain’s Road which is so named in honour of the WWI Captain’s who chose to purchase their homes along this beautiful stretch of waterway in the early 20th century.
You’ll have the opportunity to enjoy an exclusive cooking class in Scenic Culinaire or simply relax on board as we cruise past beautiful uninhabited islands bound for Bordeaux.

Day 12 Bordeaux > Madrid
Disembark and fly from Bordeaux to Madrid where you’ll spend three nights at your luxurious hotel. (Breakfast)

This afternoon, choose between the exceptional Prado Museum, or the marvellous 18th century Royal Palace of Madrid.

Day 14 Madrid
Today is yours to enjoy at leisure in Spain’s largest city. Stroll the city’s fashionable boutiques, relax in one of Madrid’s many manicured gardens, or explore the surrounding area. (Breakfast)
