Day 1 Your Journey Begins
Board your overnight flight to Europe.

Day 2 Welcome to Vienna
At Vienna Airport, transfers for your hotel will leave at 09:00, 11:00, 13:00 & 15:00. The Austrian capital is famous for coffee and delicious pastries so, why not stroll to a local café? Later, meet your Tour Director for a Welcome Reception and an opportunity to mingle over a pleasant evening of dinner and wine.(WD)

Day 3 Charming Cesky Krumlov and Golden Prague
Once over the Czech border, head for picturesque Cesky Krumlov. Get your bearings with included sightseeing. Then have free time to explore this fairytale vision from the Middle Ages, nestled amid a loop in the Vltava River. Wander through the cobblestone, traffic-free streets, past colourful houses that lead up to the finest castle in the land. In the afternoon, continue through the green Bohemian countryside to Golden' Prague.(BB / RD)

Day 4 Prague, City of a Hundred Spires
(Relaxed Start) Join a Local Expert for a guided visit to one of the most beautiful and intact historical centres in Europe. Start with the 1,000-year-old Prague Castle, where you can admire the stained glass of St. Vitus Cathedral and take in amazing views over the Old Town. Finish in the Old Town Square where the mechanical antics of the Astronomical Clock's glockenspiel delight onlookers each hour. Day 5 Reflect on Auschwitz then on to Krakow
Enjoy a gentle drive through the stunning Czech landscapes before crossing into Poland where you will stop at Oswiecim, better known by its German name of ‘Auschwitz'. A guided visit to the memorial and museum of Auschwitz and a stop at Birkenau bears witness to the terrible atrocities of the Holocaust.(BB / DW)

Day 6 The Damsels and Dragons of Krakow
Journey into a glistening subterranean world at the 600-year-old Wieliczka salt mines. In a maze of tunnels deep below the surface, witness unique salt sculptures, sunken lakes and even a glorious cathedral carved entirely out of rock salt by the miners themselves. Back in Krakow, join a Local Expert for a morning tour. Ascend Wawel Hill to visit the cathedral. Walk past the courtyard of Jagiellonian University through the Old Town, to Europe's largest and most beautiful town square. See the medieval Cloth Hall and visit the 14th century St. Mary's Church (keep your eyes and ears peeled for the trumpeter in the tower). Day 7 Through Sleepy Slovakia to Budapest
Journey into Slovakia and through the breathtaking Tatra Mountains, where villagers still live in traditional wooden houses. See the picturesque Oravsky Hrad Castle before crossing into Hungary and arriving in Budapest. In the evening, dine at the elegant Gundel restaurant.(BB / HD)

Day 8 Budapest, the Queen of the Danube
(Relaxed Start) Venture into the heart of Buda's medieval Castle District with a Local Expert to visit Matthias Church and take in the vista from the Fisherman's Bastion. Cross the Danube to the Pest district to visit Heroes' Square and drive down elegant Andrássy Boulevard. Then enjoy time in the Central Market Hall - its three storeys packed with aromatic food stalls offering Hungarian salamis, spicy paprika and sweet Tokaji wines. Day 9 Stately Vienna and the Habsburgs
Cross the border and move on to stately Vienna to join a Local Expert for a private tour of Maria Theresa's Schonbrunn Palace and formal gardens. Then get your camera ready for a drive around the ring road. This grand boulevard, built along the lines of the old city walls, showcases many of the capital's architectural masterpieces, including the Opera House, the magnificent Hofburg Imperial Residence and Parliament building. As night falls, experience an extraordinary concert of Viennese classical music. Day 12 Cruising the Wachau Valley (Weissenkirchen or Melk)
After a scenic cruise through the spectacular Wachau Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, you'll arrive in Weissenkirchen and enjoy a day full of wonderful activities - choose to stroll through the village, sample apricot-infused delicacies and experience a 'Go Active' hike through a vineyard and taste the local wines, or, you can visit Melk's 900-year-old abbey, a significant centre of learning for many centuries and home to the extraordinary library that inspired the novel The Name of the Rose. Day 13 Engelhartszell, Passau
You have three ways to experience Passau: strolling with a Local Expert through the medieval lanes lined with baroque buildings; taking a panoramic tour and a short walk through the heart of the charming city; or going active by cycling along the Danube's riverside bike path and through Passau's Old Town.(BB / L / DW)

Day 14 Deggendorf (Theresienthal), cruising the Danube River, Straubing
Deggendorf - gateway to the magical Bavarian Forest- awaits via a horse-drawn wagon. En route to a Theresienthal glass manufactory, enjoy freshly baked bread and schnapps. Alternatively, cycle along the Danube to Straubing, where you will meet up with your fellow travellers and explore the local brewing traditions or experience daily life in this enchanting town.(BB / L / DW)

Day 15 Regensburg
Regensburg is one of Europe's best-preserved medieval towns, and your walking discovery tour provides a concise overview of its fascinating 2,000-year history. Day 16 Cruising the Main-Danube Canal, Nuremberg
(Relaxed Start) After cruising the most scenic parts of the Main-Danube Canal, head ashore in Nuremberg for a panoramic tour of the city. Alternatively, you can take a guided tour of the significant WWII sites, including Courtroom 600, the venue for the historic Nuremberg Trials. Note: Courtroom 600 is an active court. Visitors will only be permitted to see the courtroom during trial breaks. In the evening, enjoy a Captain’s Farewell Reception and Gala Dinner.(BB / L / CD)

Day 17 Depart Nuremberg
