Day 1: NANTES December 22
Passengers are welcome to board our ship in Nantes at 6:00 p.m. After comfortably settling into your cabins, we’ll introduce our crew at a welcome cocktail. Tonight, enjoy dinner followed by entertainment.
DAY 2: NANTES – SAINT-NAZAIRE December 23
Join us for the excursion proposed: A tour of Nantes. You’ll discover the small streets of the medieval Bouffay quarter and the beautiful Flamboyant-style exterior of the Cathedral of St. Peter and St. Paul. We’ll visit the île Feydeau, you’ll discover the shopping districts created in the 18th century around the Théâtre Graslin and the Passage Pommeraye. We’ll continue on our tour to the Castle of the Dukes of Brittany. Return on board. Afternoon, join us for the excursion proposed: the seaside town of Saint-Nazaire. We’ll begin our visit with the Escal’Atlantic, which ingeniously retraces the history of Norman and French ocean liners through a unique experience. Then, we’ll continue on to the Saint-Nazaire shipyard, one of the largest and well-renowned in Europe. A valid form of identification (passport) will be needed to access the site. We’ll return to the ship in Saint-Nazaire. Tonight's theme is "The Tales of Christmas".
Day 3: SAINT-NAZAIRE – ANCENIS December 24
In the early morning, our ship will sail. Arriving in Ancenis in the early afternoon. Join us for the excursion proposed: the Muscadet region. We’ll pass through several villages that are testimony to the strong winegrowing identity in the region. We’ll continue toward La Chapelle Heulin and stop at the Château Cassemichère (or similar site). This exceptional site invites you to discover its history-filled vineyards, visit its cellars and taste the dry, light, fruity and aromatic wine. Then we’ll leave for Clisson, a charming medieval city with 15th century vestiges and a slight Italian feel. Following our tour, we’ll return to the boat to enjoy our festive Christmas Eve dinner on board. Christmas services will be celebrated in Ancenis (possibility of transportation: €13/person; reservation and payment on board(1).)
Day 4: ANCENIS – Angers – ANCENIS December 25
Our ship will sail towards Bouchemaine. Once we arrive, join us for the excursion proposed: Angers which was the capital of the historical Anjou province and which is distinguished not only by its legacy, but also by its modern nature. We’ll also visit La Doutre, a village-like neighborhood in the heart of the city. Return on board. Enjoy an evening of entertainment.
Day 5: BOUCHEMAINE – THE LOIRE VALLEY CHâTEAUX– NANTES December 26
Join us for the full day’s excursion proposed: the Châteaux of the Loire Valley. We’ll leave by coach for the Château d'Azay-le-Rideau. Built on a small island in the middle of the Indre River, the château as it is seen today was built under Francis I by Gilles Berthelot, a wealthy financier who wanted to incorporate its medieval past alongside the latest architectural styles of the Italian renaissance. We’ll continue on to Chinon, where you’ll discover an ancient underground quarry that has been transformed into a wine cellar. We'll finish with a wine tasting. After lunch, we’ll visit the Château de Chinon. Overlooking the town, the castle was the site of key events involving the Hundred Years’ War between England and France. We’ll return to the ship in Nantes (a 2-hour trip.) Tonight is our gala evening and dinner.
Day 6: NANTES December 27
Enjoy one last buffet breakfast on board before disembarking at 10:00 a.m. End of our services.
