Day 1 Mandalay > Irrawaddy Cruise > Mingun
Embark on the luxurious Scenic Aura to begin your Myanmar adventure. (Please arrive before 10:00am). After boarding and settling in, cruise to Mingun to discover the stories behind a massive unfinished brick pagoda. Nearby, admire the famous uncracked Mingun Bell and the all-white Hsinbyume Pagoda. This evening raise a toast to the journey. (Lunch, Dinner)
 
Day 2 Mandalay > Amarapura
Sail back to Mandalay and Amarapura, the penultimate Burmese Royal Capital.
 
Enrich During your visit to a gold leaf workshop, learn how to produce gold leaf. After continuing on to Mahamuni Pagoda, male guests will be able to place the gold leaf on one of the iconic Buddha statues.
 
Marvel at the intricate artistry on display at Shwenandaw, a beautiful wooden monastery and Kuthodaw Pagoda, home to the ‘World’s Largest Book’.
 
Sundowners Enjoy an evening drink in boats under U-Bein Bridge, the world’s longest teak bridge, to capture that memorable photo of the bridge at sunset. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
 
Day 3 Sagaing > Inwa (Ava)
Stop at the ancient capitals of Sagaing and Inwa.
 
Enrich During a special visit to a quiet nunnery in Sagaing, you will be invited to donate food to the resident nuns. Enjoy a freshly prepared lunch with them and learn more about the Buddhist religion in Myanmar.
 
Later by horse and cart, explore Inwa, the capital of the Ava Kingdom for more than 400 years. Visit a 200-year-old teak monastery and the leaning Inwa Tower. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
 
Day 4 Myinmu > Monywa
Sail into Myinmu and begin your road journey to Monywa to explore the sandstone grottoes decorated with spectacular mural paintings and hundreds of Buddha statues inside niches. Visit the extraordinary Thanboddhay Monastery, one of the most intricately decorated temples in the country, the stupa with the longest reclining Buddha. Return to the ship and cruise slowly downstream. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
 
Day 5 Yandabo
Arrive in Yandabo where in 1826, the peace treaty ending the First Anglo-Burmese war was signed. Now famous for its pottery, stroll through the village and witness the craftsmen honing their craft and observe their unusual way of firing the pottery. En-route to Bagan, stop off at the traditional riverside village of Schwe Pyi Thar. As the day progresses, enjoy demonstrations about the traditional dress Longyi and the time-honoured face decoration that is Thanaka. Tonight attend a traditional puppet show. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
 
Day 6 Bagan
Optional Hot Air Balloon Flight Book a hot air balloon flight over the majestic temples of Bagan. Flights last approximately 45 minutes and must be purchased on tour. (Note: available only from late- October to late-March; all flights weather permitting).
 
Freechoice: Venture to Mount Popa, home to Myanmar’s nats, before heading to a Toddy Farm where a traditional lunch awaits. Alternatively, explore the sights of the Temple Circuit and Nyaung U, plus the Laquerware Museum and workshop, or visit Old Bagan where the largest concentration of temples are located.
 
Enrich A local village monastery will invite you to attend a delicious afternoon tea event. Savour the traditional fares on offer, meet the village locals and observe the area’s unique way of life.
 
Afterwards visit the most iconic sight in this hypnotic region, the Ananda Temple, before making your way to Shwesandaw Pagoda and Dhammayangyi Temple.
 
Sundowners Travel to Clay Pot Mountain and indulge in a relaxing drink away from the crowds while soaking up magical views and grandeur over the Bagan plain. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
 
Day 7 Bagan > Tan Kyi Paya
Explore the bustling Nyaung U market, a busy morning market where locals gather from surrounding villages. Stop for a cup of tea in a local teahouse, a key part of daily life in Myanmar. Later travel to the village of Tan Kyi located on the mountain top to view stupas that originally marked the boundaries of Bagan. Reboard your ship and continue cruising to Salay. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
 
Day 8 Salay > Magwe
In Salay admire Youqson Kyaung, the beautiful teak monastery. Later see the largest lacquer Buddha image in Myanmar and visit Paya Thonzu, a small trio of brick shrines. Explore Magwe by trishaw to visit Mya Tha Lun Pagoda. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
 
Day 9 Minhla > Thayetmyo
Start with a morning tour of Minhla including a visit to Minhla Fort. Continue cruising to Thayetmyo, which once marked the border between Royal and British Burma. In this quaint port town visit the oldest golf course in Myanmar, admire the region’s old colonial buildings and explore the local market. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
 
Day 10 Pyay (Prome)
Berth in Pyay. Begin with a visit to Shwesandaw Pagoda which contains a series of five terraces. In the afternoon explore Sri Ksetra, one of the ancient Pyu Kingdoms that flourished between 200 B.C. and 900 A.D. and became Myanmar’s first World Heritage-listed site in June 2014. Later, enjoy a farewell dinner back on board. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
 
Day 11 Irrawaddy Cruise > Yangon
Disembark and drive to Yangon. Just outside of Yangon’s city limits, stop in Htaukkyant to visit the Allied War Cemetery. Continue onto Yangon where your adventure ends. (Please book flights to depart after 6:00pm). (Lunch)
