Day 2 Paris > Bordeaux
Travel in style aboard the TGV rail to Bordeaux where your friendly crew will welcome you aboard the luxurious Scenic Diamond for your ten night cruise. (Breakfast, Dinner)
 
Day 3 Bordeaux > Saint-Émilion
Enjoy a pleasant morning cruise along the Dordogne River to Libourne. Whilst cruising, perhaps join a masterclass in French cuisine in Scenic Culinaire. Spend the afternoon in Saint-Émilion, the jewel of this ancient wine growing region. You’ll also get to explore the underground catacombs of the Monolithic Church – a true trip highlight.
 
Celebrate the two thousand-year history of wine with a glass at the exclusive estate of Château Siaurac. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
 
Day 4 Libourne > Pauillac
Awake to charming vistas over historic Libourne.
 
Enjoy a guided tour of Libourne and view its quaint 16th century town-house and Gothic church. Alternatively, sample the exquisite Grand Cru Class wines at the estate of Château Franc Mayne, or visit the city of Bergerac and enjoy foie gras tasting at a local farm.
 
Leisurely cruising to Pauillac this afternoon with opportunities to join a cooking class in Scenic Culinaire along the way. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
 
Day 5 Médoc
Discover why the Médoc region is highly regarded as the world’s leading red wine producer. Afterwards, sample the region’s finest at the Château Gruaud-Larose estate, or take a bike to explore Château Lagrange, featured on Napoleon III’s 1855 Classification.
 
The spectacular Médoc countryside boasts many fine aristocratic châteaux but none more opulent than Château Giscours. You’ll be escorted to the 18th century Farm Suzanne on the Giscours estate to enjoy an unforgettable four-course dinner with Grand Cru Class wines and live musicians performing classical masterpieces for your enjoyment. Day 6 Pauillac > Cadillac
Soak in the Garonne River vistas as we spend a full day cruising the pretty Garonne River landscape into Cadillac. Scenic Culinaire will offer cooking classes en route. Enjoy fabulous entertainment on board this evening. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
 
Day 7 Cadillac
Venture into the Sauternes region for a tasting of the prestigious Château Guiraud dessert wines. Alternatively, cycle through the rolling vineyards of Sauternes to taste the Grand Cru Class wines of Château Myrat.
 
Join an exclusive cooking class in Scenic Culinaire, or tour the impressive Roquetaillade Castle. Alternatively, discover the medieval village of Saint Macaire. Or perhaps enjoy a 12 kilometre roundtrip hike from Cadillac to Loupiac. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
 
Day 8 Bordeaux
Shop with a Chef at a local food market before an exclusive cooking class in Scenic Culinaire, or enjoy a guided tour of Bordeaux and her many attractions. For the more energetic, cycle the historic regions of Bordeaux.

Day 9 Arcachon > Bourg
Discover the delightful beachside area of Arcachon this morning, the jewel of France’s western coastline.
 
Why not stay on board and enjoy a chocolate and wine pairing event. Or choose to explore Le Teich Bird Reserve, home to over 250 bird species. Alternatively, climb Europe’s largest sand dune, or join a walking tour of Arcachon including Baltard Market. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
 
Day 10 Cognac
Today explore the unique northern shores of the Gironde Estuary.
 
Discover the Carriages Museum in Bourg Castle. Alternatively, spend a full day exploring the fortified town of Cognac, and enjoy a tasting at the property of Rémy Martin.
 
Late afternoon cruising on the Gironde River to Blaye. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
 
Day 11 Blaye > Bordeaux
Discover the remarkable Blaye region, established to protect the Bordeaux region from invasion.
 
Stroll through the charming Citadel of Blaye, or join a 30 kilometre roundtrip cycle along the Captain’s Road, named in honour of the WWI Captains who chose to purchase their homes along this beautiful stretch of waterway in the early 20th century.
 
Perhaps relax on the Sun Deck as we cruise past beautiful uninhabited islands, or choose to enjoy an on board cooking class in Scenic Culinaire, as we cruise towards Bordeaux. Celebrate your cruise through the Bordeaux region at the Captain’s farewell dinner on board this evening. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
 
Day 12 Bordeaux > Porto
Today fly to Porto for your Douro Valley cruise. (Breakfast, Dinner)
 
Day 13 Porto > Entre-os-Rios
Today, discover the historic treasures of Porto, including a visit to Palacio do Bolsa. Then enjoy a relaxing afternoon of cruising as your luxury Scenic Space-Ship meanders its way to Entre-os-Rios. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
 
Day 14 Entre-os-Rios
Guimarães was the seat of the first King of Portugal and is dominated by the impressive Ducal Palace, which dates back to medieval times. It’s a great tour to kickstart your interest in this fascinating region. Alternatively, you could choose a tasting at the fairy tale-like property of Quinta Aveleda, a renowned regional sparkling wine producer. The incredible gardens alone make the excursion worthwhile.
 
This afternoon, enjoy a blissful cruise to Regua.
 
After the doors close to the general public, you’ll get to soak in the expansive views of Regua’s surrounding vineyards at an exclusive cocktail event hosted on the beautifully manicured terrace of the Douro Museum. Savour a range of port wine varietals in the most wondrous setting - and be sure to try the Port Tonic. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
 
Day 15 Regua
Tour the elegant town of Lamego, with its many fine Baroque structures, or enjoy a guided visit of Mateus Palace, the historic icon depicted on the labels of Portugal’s famous Mateus
rosé wine.
 
This afternoon, you’ll discover the captivating Varosa Valley and visit the charming village of Tarouca where you’ll get to explore the restored Monastery of Saint John of Tarouca. En route walk the fortified bridge of Ucanha, Portugal’s first toll bridge, spanning the crystal clear waters of the Varosa River. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
 
Day 16 Regua > Vega de Terron
Today, enjoy a full day cruising the Douro Valley’s Vinhateiro wine growing region. Classified a World Heritage-listed Site, Vinhateiro has a history of wine production that stretches back for 2,000 years. In fact, its impeccable port wines have been world-famous since at least the 18th century. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
 
Day 17 Salamanca
Take your time absorbing the sheer architectural splendour of Salamanca, a city as visually striking as it is historically intriguing. Enjoy an included lunch accompanied by an energetic Flamenco dance performance, followed by  some free time where you can explore Salamanca at will. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
 
Day 18 Pocinho > Pinhão
Over breakfast, you’ll enjoy a leisurely cruise to nearby Pocinho for our Côa Valley discovery.
 
Visit the award-winning Côa Valley Museum and enjoy a pre-historic workshop. If you’re more adventurous at heart, take a canoeing excursion on the Sabor River. Alternatively, you could join the ‘Tastes of the Côa Valley’ excursion and visit Casa Painova for a sweet almond workshop and a tasting of their almond, olive and fruit products.
 
This afternoon, enjoy your picturesque cruise to Pinhão. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
 
Day 19 Pinhão
Today you’ll visit the remarkable village of Provesende, resplendently showcasing the Portugal of yesteryear. Wander the atmospheric streets of this quaint village with the locals as they proudly introduce you to their way of life – including their local bakery, and the bar and its wonderfully eclectic collection of regional wares. This is a specially choreographed experience only open to Scenic guests. You’ll also visit the church for a special recital, and enjoy wine tasting at the restored manor house of Morgadio da Calçada. What better way to immerse yourself into the local culture.
 
Top off a truly unforgettable day with a visit to the estate of Quinta da Roêda for a tasting of their famous export. If you’re feeling energetic, you could also choose a walk through the hillside vineyard for a unique tasting among the vines. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
 
Day 20 Pinhão > Porto
Having spent the previous eight days discovering the treasures of the Douro, Varosa and Côa Valleys, enjoy an exclusive Douro Valley Wine Review, as well as on board activities, including a cork jewelery workshop. Alternatively, simply enjoy the beauty of the region as you cruise back into Porto.
 
Enjoy a decadent fine dining experience accompanied by a traditional Fado music performance at the fabulous Burmester Cellars this evening. You can look forward to an evening at what is arguably Porto’s most historic wine cave, situated at the foot of the iconic Dom Luis I pedestrian bridge – a truly unforgettable experience, once again exclusive to Scenic guests. Day 21 Porto
Acquaint yourself with the local fishing industry by meeting the fishermen of Afurada village as they return to port with the day’s catch. Hear their tales of the sea in a local taberna where they’ll prepare their catch over an open fire, to be enjoyed with a chilled glass of wine. How hospitable.
 
Visit the oldest remaining Canning Factory in Porto for an insight into their 100-year-old family business. Or visit a local corking factory. Alternatively, walk the terraces of Cristal Gardens for views over Porto and the Douro River. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
 
Day 22 Porto
Your leisurely ten night cruise of Portugal’s Douro Valley concludes after breakfast and you’ll be transferred to Porto Airport with all your wonderful memories intact. (Breakfast)
