River Cruise Itinerary
Board the ship at 6.00pm in Strasbourg (ship station) and settle comfortably in your cabins before meeting the crew. Cruise towards Mainz. A welcome cocktail reception will be organized on board. Dinner and evening on board.

The Romantic Rhine Valley Full board on board. Guided tour of Mainz and the Gutenberg Museum. Mainz was founded more than 2000 years ago by the Romans. In the 17th and 18th centuries, the top architects and sculptors created the basic shape of the town, with fine palaces and churches. Here you can admire the magnificent historic houses which have been outstandingly well-restored. Finally you will visit the Gutenberg Museum (closed on Mondays), the world’s finest museum for printing equipment, materials and books which keeps one copy of the Bible of Gutenberg – the oldest printed book in the world. Afternoon spent cruising up the most beautiful section of the Romantic Rhine Valley listed as a World Heritage Site since 2002. Throughout this cruise, you will see numerous castles amid the famous vineyards, and the celebrated Rock of the Lorelei. Arrival in Koblenz in the evening and set off to explore the city in the company of our hostess.

DAY 3: KOBLENZ – COCHEM – TRIER The Moselle Valley
Full board on board. Arrival in Cochem early afternoon. Free time in the city or guided tour of the Cochem castle. The Reichsburg is built on a remarkable site, a steep vine-covered hill overlooking the Moselle. Guided tour of this magnificent castle: dating from the year 1000 which was entirely rebuilt according to old plans in a Neo-Gothic style. Return to the boat and cruise up to Trier. Tonight’s entertainment is a show by the crew. Sailing during the night.

DAY 4: TRIER - The Moselle Valley
Full board on board. Morning spent cruising on the Moselle. Arrival in Trier late morning. In the afternoon, visit of the city. Gala dinner. Overnight stay.

After buffet breakfast, we will reach the town center by coach. Walking tour of Luxembourg, during which you will uncover several heritage sites of major importance: the Constitution square, William II square, the old town, the Grand-Ducal Palace, and the Millennium Monument. After lunch, we will head towards Paris. Board the ship between 6.00 and 7.00 pm and settle comfortably in your cabins. Meet the crew at the welcome cocktail reception on board. Dinner and evening on board. Meanwhile, we will start our cruise on the Seine river (depending on the water level) and enjoy splendid views on Paris by night as we cruise past the Eiffel Tower, the “Grand Palais”, the “Orangerie”, the Louvres Museum and Notre Dame Cathedral overlooking the “Île de la Cité”. Overnight stop.

DAY 6: PARIS – VERNON Versailles Castle
Full board on board. Early in the morning, we will cruise towards the futuristic La Défense business district which will impress you with its concrete and glass architecture. Stop in Conflans-Sainte-Honorine or Poissy. Guided tour of the Versailles Château (1). The Versailles Château is closed on Mondays, so if the stop falls on a Monday, the guided tour will be at Malmaison Château (2), one of the most famous world heritage monuments. Return on board in Mantes-la-Jolie, continuation of the cruise for Vernon. Overnight stop.

DAY 7: VERNON - ROUEN - DUCLAIR the Seine Valley
Full board on board. Early in the morning, we will cruise along Les Andelys and Amfreville towards Rouen, former Capital of Normandy. Guided visit of the city, during which you will discover the Cathedral and the square where Joan of Arc was burnt alive at stake. Back on board and cruise towards Duclair and Honfleur. Gala evening.

DAY 8: DUCLAIR – HONFLEUR The Floral Coast and the D-Day landing beaches
Full board on board. Last stop of our cruise in Honfleur port (depending on the tide). Guided tour of Honfleur and its fishing port. You'll discover narrow, picturesque streets and old houses, the salt lofts, and Saint Catherine's Church (15th - 16th century), the largest wooden church in France. Return on board. Excursion to Deauville and the “Floral Coast”. During the second half of the 19th century, it became the hot spot for well-to-do Parisians and film stars from all over the world. OR Full day guided tour (lunch included) to the beaches of the Normandy landings (only as a pre-booked tour and a minimum of 30 participants). One of the big turning points of the 20th century occurred in France during the landing of the Allies in Normandy. Along the visit, you will see Omaha Beach and Coleville sur Mer, as well as Gold Beach, Juno Beach and Sword Beach on your way back to Honfleur. Overnight.

Breakfast on board. Disembark in Honfleur. End of our journey.

  • You must have a valid passport to travel. Your passport must be valid for six months beyond the last day of your travels.
  • The cruise schedule may vary according to tides and arrival times at ports of call may be subject to change.
  • (1) Valid for a minimum of 35 participants. If this number is not reached, the excursion will be replaced by a visit of the Château de Malmaison.
  • For the excursion to Versailles, the gardens are accessible for an additional fee on Saturdays and Sundays from April to October, as well as Tuesdays from July to October because of special events. The additional entry fee is between €7.50 and €8.50 per person (2014 rates). The gardens are accessible free of charge on Wednesday, Thursday and Fridays.
  • (2) The Château de Malmaison is closed on Tuesdays. It will be replaced by a visit to the Château d’Auvers.
