River Cruise Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive in Budapest
Upon arrival in Budapest you are met and transferred to your hotel. This evening, join your Resident Tour Director for a welcome dinner. (D)

Day 2: Budapest, Hungary
This morning, explore Budapest at your leisure, taking in its treasure trove of architecture and history. In Budapest, tour both Buda and Pest. Then, choose an optional excursion to Gödöllö with its royal palace. (B,D)

Day 3: Szentendre
At the entrance to the Danube Bend, set out on an excursion to Szentendre, a lively artists’ town. Return to Budapest to board your beautiful river cruise with priority embarkation. Later, a welcome cocktail is served before dinner. Tonight, cruise the Danube through Budapest beneath the Chain Bridge, and enjoy a Hungarian folklore program on board. (B,L,D)

Day 4: Bratislava, Slovakia / St. Martin’s Cathedral
Arrive in Slovakia’s capital, Bratislava, to explore its old quarter. View St. Martin’s Cathedral and Grassalkovich Palace. After lunch, opt to visit the Imperial Festival Palace Hof. Tonight, join the captain on board for a gala dinner. (B,L,D)

Day 5: Vienna / City of Mozart and Strauss
On an A&K-exclusive excursion, visit Vienna’s Schönbrunn Palace, where you see how apple strudel is made. Drive to the Ringstrasse and St. Stephen’s Cathedral, with time for lunch on your own (or included aboard ship). Tonight, attend a “Sound of Vienna” concert in the Kursalon, enjoying category A seating. (B,L,D)

Day 6: Melk & Dürnstein / Cruising the Danube
This morning, visit 900-year-old Melk Abbey. Cruise to Dürnstein in the Wachau Valley, with time to stroll the streets of this charming village with your Resident Tour Director. (B,L,D)

Day 7: Passau, Salzburg & Linz / Bavarian Towns
Choose from optional excursions that feature walking tours in Passau and Linz, or a full day in Salzburg. Back on board tonight, sit down to a private highlights dinner featuring a special chef’s menu. (B,L,D)

Day 8: Kelheim & Regensburg / Folk Entertainment
From Kelheim, embark on an optional excursion to Weltenburg Abbey to sample the rich dark beer made in the world’s oldest monastery brewery. Later, enjoy a tour in Regensburg and, tonight, Bavarian music on the ship. (B,L,D)

Day 9: Nuremberg / Exclusive Art Bunker Tour
Disembark for an A&K-exclusive day in Nuremberg that includes a walk through the altstadt (old town). View the Palace of Justice, site of the War Crimes Tribunal of 1946, as well as the castle and its 900-year-old ramparts. Then, privately tour a World War II art bunker, continuing to the Documentation Centre Museum. (B,L,D)

Day 10: Bamberg / On the Main-Danube Canal
Arrive in Bamberg to enjoy a walking tour of the old quarter, with its finely detailed Gothic cathedral and curious town hall (Altes Rathaus), built on a bridge above the Regnitz River. Later, hear an onboard lecture on the Main-Danube Canal, which you begin cruising this evening. (B,L,D)

Day 11: Rothenburg ob der Tauber / Fairy-Tale Town
Embark on a full-day, A&K-exclusive excursion that begins with a morning in fairy-tale Rothenburg ob der Tauber. After lunch at a local restaurant, explore the streets of Würzburg, seeing the market square and Chapel of St. Mary, a masterpiece of German Baroque. Then, quench your thirst with a beer tasting in Würzburg. (B,L,D)

Day 12: Mespelbrunn / Medieval Moated Castle
Arrive midday in Miltenberg, where you begin an A&K-exclusive excursion that includes a walking tour of the old town’s historic streets and a private visit to Schloss Mespelbrunn. This moated, medieval masterpiece, nestled deep in the Spessart Forest, is the home of the modern-day Counts of Ingelheim-Echter. (B,L,D)

Day 13: Koblenz & Rüdesheim / The Enchanting Rhine
Arrive in Koblenz for a full-day, optional tour that includes an excursion to famed Lorelei Rock. Alternatively, remain aboard ship to cruise the Rhine Gorge — passing hilltop castles, terraced vineyards and charming villages — followed by an optional walking tour in Rüdesheim that includes Siegfried’s Mechanical Music Museum. Day 14: Cologne, Germany / Gothic Cathedral
Disembark for a morning walking tour of Cologne. After lunch, an optional excursion includes National Park Siebengebirge, Königswinter and Dragon Rock. (B,L,D)

Day 15: Amsterdam / Canal Boat Cruise
Tour Amsterdam to see its Royal Palace and Nieuwe Kerk (New Church), then board a canal boat to cruise through the city’s historic canal district. After lunch aboard ship, cruise through the flat polder landscape of southern Holland. (B,L,D)

Day 16: Volendam & Edam / Seaside Charms
Drive to Volendam, a charming fishing town beside the Zuiderzee, to experience its picturesque waterfront and traditional folk culture. Continue to nearby Edam for a cheese tasting. Tonight, join the new friends you’ve made for a farewell dinner. (B,L,D)

Day 17: Depart Amsterdam
Transfer to Amsterdam airport for your flight. (B)
